driving through the Maryland hills, bursting in bright greens and flowering trees.

being surprisingly touched by the very real thing happening in the gathered body of the district board affirming me in a vocational call. for as much as i grouse about the church, it is still a place of deep beauty where - at our best - we attempt to make space for the Spirit to move amongst us. it happens.

the process of sermon writing: reading, studying, marinating, caring, loving, connecting. it's a long and sort of hard process, long before i sit down to type words in order on the page. the muses, the Spirit, the happens in spite of myself.
